“Neptūnas” defeated “Vytautas” on a road game and stepped up to third place
Klaipėda, “Neptūnas” sees the end of the year 2015 in joyful moods – the players of Dainius Adomaitis in the last match of the year defeated the team Prienai-Birštonas, “Vytautas” on a road game with a result of 85:72.
The players of “Neptūnas” added the 9th victory to their record in the Lithuanian Basketball League (Tete-a-Tete Casino-LKL) championship (8 defeats) and stepped up into the third place in the LKL championship’s tablet.
There was a fierce fight for the first two quarters, but in the third quarter “Neptūnas” amassed a two-digit lead – 55:45 and did not let the victory slip out of their hands.
“Vytautas” – “Neptūnas” – 72:85 (26:22, 15:20, 16:21, 15:22)
“Vytautas”: Vilmantas Dilys – 17, Dainius Šalenga – 14, Gytis Sirutavičius – 13, and Laimonas Kisielius – 12 pts.
“Neptūnas”: Arnas Butkevičius – 20, Daniel Ewing – 15, Jerai Grant – 14 (12 rebounds, 28 Performance Index Rating), Donatas Zavackas – 12, Vytautas Šarakauskas – 11, Martynas Mažeika – 10, and Arvydas Šikšnius – 3 pts. (Mindaugas Girdžiūnas, Travis Bader and Gilvydas Biruta did not score any points).
The players from Klaipėda won the match for rebounds – 42:27, but they made more turnovers – 12:7.

The next LKL home match “Neptūnas” will play on January 3rd (Sunday) at 18:00 in “Švyturio Arena” against the team Pasvalys, “Pieno žvaigždės”.
Right after the holidays, after Christmas and New Year’s, “Neptūnas” will start the Eurocup tournament matches in the stage “Last 32”. According to preliminary schedule, the first match of “Neptūnas” in 2016 will take place in Thessaloniki against the local team “Aris” (Greece, January 6th). A week later (January 12th or 13th) the players of “Neptūnas” welcomes to Klaipėda the team Berlin, “ALBA” (Germany), and a week later after that (19th or 20th) they will travel to Milan where they will play against the team “Emporio Armani” (Italy).
In the last week of January (26th or 27th), the team “Emporio Armani” will arrive to Klaipėda, in the first days of February (2nd or 3rd) they will compete against the team “Aris”, and the last Eurocup match for “Neptūnas” will take place in Berlin (February 9th or 10th) where they will play against the team “ALBA”.
The two best teams in the group will advance to the next stage of Eurocup championship.
