NEPTUNAS DEFEATED DZUKIJA ASSUREDLY
Neptunas, from Klaipeda, played the start of the match successfully against Dzukija from Alytus on the road and gained the victory assuredly with the score of 75:91 (9:24, 24:18, 16:22, 26:27).
Neptunas started the match with some good play in defence and resulting triples. The hosts couldn't score a point for over 5 minutes, and the basketball players from Neptunas rushed in with the score of 0:10. Neptunas scored six triples during the first quarter (D. Zavackas and J. Sinica together scored 3 triples). The guests won the quarter assuredly with the score of 9:24.
The basketball players from Alytus attempted to find many different ways to overcome the Neptunas defence in the second quarter. Their American player, Jr. Dixon didn't allow the guests to increase their advantage with his downtown shots. To tell the truth, K. Maksvytis' technical foul and S. Galdikas' unsporting foul helped the hosts of the court to score. Thanks to them, Dzukija reduced the deficit to the score of 33:42 before the half-time break.
After the break, D. Zavackas started his solo performance, who alone collected some good points for the team. He scored two triples and two two-pointers. After 25 min Neptunas were in the lead with the score of 38:52. The guests won the quarter with the score of 49:64.
Dzukija attempted to catch the opponents during the final quarter, but Neptunas played solidly and celebrated the deserved victory with the score of 75:91 tonight.

The basketball players from Klaipeda had to play this match without their captain, Martynas Mazeika, who suffered an injury during the previous Euroleague match. At the end of that match Martynas stretched his leg muscle and completed the match. However, there is a big question over whether he will be able to play in another Euroleague match in Belgrade. Justas Sinica replaced Martynas in the line-up in Alytus.

We achieved an advantage due to our good defence and offense at the start of the match, which allowed us to play calmly. Being in the lead we played steadily and approached the victory assuredly.”
