“NEPTŪNAS” ADDED A SNIPER FROM THE USA

Klaipėda, “Neptūnas” added another recruit into their ranks before the start of the season. A one year long contract has been signed today with 25yo, 196 cm tall shooting guard Travis Bader. He still holds the NCAA records: most hit three-pointers and most attempted three-pointers.

The new defender from the team “Neptūnas“ during the four seasons spent in NCAA (2010 - 2014) has played 137 games and hit 504 three-pointers, attempting 1246 three-pointers. His three-point accuracy reached 40,5 percent. These results have not yet been improved in the NCAA. T. Bader finished his last season in the NCAA (2013 – 2014) sensationally. The student from Oakland University spent 37 minutes in the basketball court and scored about 20,6 pts on average.

“It’s the kind of player that we needed. We were looking for a basketball player who would be dangerous at the three-point field goal.” - said Dainius Adomaitis, evaluating the recruit.

Not being able to break through into the NBA the American continued his career in Europe. He started the season in the capable team from Villeurbanne, “ASVEL” in 2014 - 2015. Together with the French team they participated in the Euroleague qualifying rounds (3 matches; 10,7 min; 5,7 pts.; 5/7 3-pointers). Failing to make into the strongest European league, T. Bader made his debut in the Eurocup matches (9 games; 14,8 min.; 4,6 pts.; 11/30 3-pointers). The American spent the French championship in the shade of his teammates (13 games; 12,8 min.; 2,2pts.; 6/31 3-pointers).

After leaving the team “ASVEL” in January, Travis continued the season in NBA’s subsidiary NBDL in the team Rio Grande, “Valley Vipers”. Here he remembered what he knows best - to throw 3-pointers (22 games; 29,7 min.; 12,8 pts.; 71/189 3-pointers).
